O, what a night it was… I didn’t expect Singapore to have events like the Night Festival and it turned out great. As usual, everything was well organized. There were security and traffic controls along the street. The only unfortunate thing was a slight drizzle.

There were stalls selling food, clothes, accessories, cards, caricature, games and features. One of the highlight was a fully grown man sitting inside a tiny doll house. We can post him letters through the mailbox outside the doll house.

To start the night off, we watched the movie ‘Hairspray’ over the large screen (under the Banyan Tree). It was fun and enjoyable except for the wet grass. The best thing about watching it here is that you can see people dancing along with the movie.

This was immediately followed by the lighting up of both the national museum and the art museum. The façade of the museums were transformed into a beautiful backdrop for the lights. You can then see some dancers approaching the front of the national museum followed by music from ‘Bloco Singapura’. That’s when the party came alive… woo hoo….

On the opposite side of the road, a party organized by Zouk, 'Beatnik Party' was starting and the music was becoming louder. Naturally, we headed towards it. There were also cheerleaders performing and more tents offering various things.
Dancing and enjoying the music, history and lights, it was soon time to go back. I can’t wait for the next event. Till then, ciao….
